David Jones, age 68 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on April 28, 2013, at the Baylor Cancer Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He was born on July 31, 1944, in Houston, Texas, to parents, Ira and Maude Jones.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Rhonda Antley. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Jones, of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Lindsey Jones, of Magnolia, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Brooke Jones, of Houston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and David Campbell, of Spring, Texas; grandchildren, Taylor and Hailey Jones, Ashlyn and Addison Jones, Amber Kinkaid and Nicholas Antley; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Mary Jones; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

His final days were spent surrounded by close family members.

He was a loving and devoted husband and father who always put the needs and wants of others in front of his own.

David loved many things in life. He loved building things for family and friends, gardening, and watching his grand kids play. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, baseball, golf cart rides, cooking, and spending lots of time with his enormous family, but nothing topped the love he had for his wife of 42 years, Debbie.

David was a sheet metal worker for nearly 50 years and eventually retired to the lake house that he and Debbie spent years remodeling. He could be counted on to make a daily run on his golf cart to visit everyone around the neighborhood and check on how their day was. Most days it would take several hours to make it around a one mile block.

David will be greatly missed, but his friends and family are comforted knowing that he is no longer in pain, and in the loving arms of Jesus.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston and will begin at 5:00 PM.

Funeral Services for David Jones will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 3, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Livingston with Rev. Kevan Wood officiating the service.
