Obituary

Funeral services for Rev. David Pate, 76, of Livingston, Texas will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Interment will follow in the Old Big Creek Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 5:30 – 9:00 P.M. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Pate was born on December 8, 1939 in Shepherd, Texas to parents, Elbert Enzor Pate and Mary Evelyn (Barnett) Pate and passed away on February 22, 2016 in Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delbert Pate; sister, Laverne Hammack; brother, Leo Pate and infant Pate.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Pate of Livingston, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Patrick Gilmore of Onalaska, Texas and Kathy and Donald Elmore of New Caney, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Judy Stewart of Cleveland, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Malinda and James Valdez of Grand Prairie, Texas; sons, Roy "Tony" Stewart of Livingston, Texas, James H. "Bubba" Pate of San Antonio, Texas, and Carl A. Taylor and Marion of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Chris Sauceda of Onalaska, Texas; brother, Cleo Pate of Shepherd, Texas; sisters, Carolyn Bland of Shepherd, Texas, Lavelta Simmons of Rye, Texas and Marie Lowe of Shepherd, Texas; brother, Eddie Pate of Shepherd, Texas; sister, Ruth Marshall of Shepherd, Texas; brother, Isaac Pate of Camilla, Texas; 26 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
