Memorial services for David Alan Reed, 68, of Onalaska, Texas will be held Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas with step-son, Sean Gilmore and nephew, Joe Emerson officiating. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the memorial service begins at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Reed was born on July 17, 1950 in Strong City, Kansas to parents, Jess Franklin Reed and Mauritta Fern (Riley) Reed, and passed away August 20, 2018 in Livingston, Texas. During his life, David proudly served his county in the United States Army in the Vietnam War; during which he earned 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He is preceded in death by his father; and nephew, John Fenton.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Reed of Onalaska, Texas; son, Casey Reed and wife, Jessica of Fort Knox, Kentucky; daughter, Corie Reed of Kansas; step-son, Sean Gilmore and wife, Rhonda of Onalaska, Texas; step-daughter, Kelly Gilmore of Humble, Texas; mother, Mauritta Anderson of Hutchinson, Kansas; grandchildren, Cassidy Oswald and husband, Ryan, Cyla Reed, Cason Reed, Camdyn Reed, Croix Reed, Caylee Asebedo, Hayden Lynch, Collin Lynch, Brennan Gilmore, and Connor Gilmore; brothers, Jesse Reed of Livingston, Texas, Jimmy Reed of Florida, and Scott Reed of Hutchinson, Kansas; sisters, Mavis Butters and husband, Don, Sandra Reed, and Brenda Reed all of Hutchinson, Kansas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
