November 1, 1968 – May 19, 2023
David Dennis Stratton, age 54, of Montgomery, Texas, born in Rochester, New York, passed away on the 19 day of May, 2023 at 2678 Farm to Market Road 3459, Onalaska, TX 77360.
He is survived by his two sons, Andrew Stratton & Benjamin Stratton; his fiancée, Alicia Katherine Bradley; his mother, Janet Stratton; his father Dennis Stratton; his sister, Jennifer & Scott Kantar; his nephew, Mitch & Masha Kantar; and his niece, Moriah Kantar.
David loved his sons more than anything in the world. He was a proud father and the joy they gave him would shine through him like the sun. Being a great dad was the most important thing to him, and he considered being a father his greatest accomplishment.
David entered the U.S. Army out of high school. He was a patriot who loved his country and its founding principles. He was an entrepreneur and a businessman, working in technology, sales, and advertising over the course of his life. He moved to Texas with his fiancée in 2015, taking a position to run a division for an air purification company. In 2019 David returned to his passion for advertising and started his own independent agency to help small business owners grow their companies. He was a brilliant strategist and artist. He loved what he did and he enjoyed every minute of it.
David was a man who took on every challenge with a determination to overcome it, no matter the odds. He always saw the positive side of every situation. He was the life of the party, making friends wherever he went. He was fiercely loyal, and he cared deeply about his friends and family, which he valued above all else. He had the spirit of a warrior and the heart of a philosopher. He would be the first to defend those who needed it, and he would do anything he could for his friends and family without hesitation. He was a respected business partner and mentor to his colleagues and clients across the country. He was a beacon of joy to his friends, always making them smile with his witty humor and charming personality. He loved his family deeply and knowing they loved him back was worth more to him than anything in the world.
David enjoyed many hobbies. He enjoyed spending time with his sons. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football and hockey. He loved the outdoors, including camping, boating, fishing, and walks through the forest. Even though he was a proud Texan, his favorite memories were camping with his family at Fish Creek in NY. He loved art and music in all its forms. He loved to watch movies. He loved motorcycles and classic cars. He enjoyed deep intellectual conversations with his friends and his fiancée whom he would discuss a wide variety of topics, including history, philosophy, economics, and many others.
David was a man of action, with an adventurous spirit and a passion for life. His light touched the lives of many people, and he will be dearly missed.
"He who has gone, so we but cherish his memory, abides with us, more potent, nay, more present than the living man." - Antoine de Saint Exupery
