Obituary

Funeral services for David Alan Walding, 68, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Harold Isaacs officiating. Interment will follow in the Bold Springs Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Walding was born March 4, 1947 in Cleveland, Texas to parents, John Larking Walding and Doreen (Jenkins) Walding, and passed away August 25, 2015 in Livingston, Texas. In his younger years, he loved fishing and hunting with his family as well as dancing and clogging with his friends. He retired after 28 years of service with the United States Postal Service. He always enjoyed his friendships with his customers on his rural route. He was a quiet, gentle, positive and brave soul through his long journey with cancer. Now he has earned his time to rest and to be with the Lord. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Walding of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Scott Hathaway of Ft. Worth, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, John David and Joyce Walding of Covington, Washington; step-daughter, Rachel Decker and Ricky of Gainville, Texas; step-son, Brad Miller and Misti of Lewisville, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lester Walding and Anette of Livingston, Texas, Chester Walding and Debbie of Georgia, Tommy Joe Walding and Linda of Livingston, Texas; sister, Suzanne Kessler and Don of Burton, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
