Funeral services for Derwood Hyder Allen, 99, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Gary Lawrence and Bro. Billy Bracken officiating. Interment will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., at the Birdston Cemetery in Streetman, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., at the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Allen was born August 16, 1925 in Memphis, Texas and passed away September 29, 2024 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Grayson Allen and Cora Katherine (Doole) Allen; spouse, Doris Allen; spouse, Patsy Allen; grandson, Micah Parsons; three brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by his daughter, Druscilla Miller and Gary of Temple, Texas; daughter, Wanda Parsons and Bob of Cypress, Texas; grandchildren, Todd Parsons and Deanna, Grayson Hopper and Claudia, Angela Parsons, and Alicia Calhoun and Patrick; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; special friends and caretaker, Karen Kerstens and Shane; and 4 stepchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
