Funeral services for Dessie Lee Baggs Hoyland, age 81, of Bacliff, will be held, Tuesday September 23, 2008 at 2:00PM graveside at Old Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, with Rev. Barry Jeffries officiating. Mrs. Hoyland passed away Friday September 12, 2008 in Houston, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald W. Hoyland of Livingston and brother, Bud Baggs of Winnie, Texas.

She is survived by her children, son, Gerald L. Hoyland and wife Sylvia of Texas City, Texas, son, Pat Hoyland, and wife Debbie of League City, Texas son, Steven Hoyland of San Leon, Texas and daughter, Karan Clifford, and husband Steven of Bacliff, Texas, sister, Hazel Hoyland and husband Tom Holland, of Beaumont, Texas, sister Joe Ann Lillie of De Ridder, La., sister, Betty Clopton, of De Ridder, La., sister in law Carol Goodwin of Livingston, 15, grandchildren and 14, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Dessie was the oldest of 5 children. She was born April 12, 1927 to Homer Lee and Mildred Baggs of Port Arthur, Texas. Dessie was a homemaker, mother, wife, grandma, and great grandma, loved by all who knew her.

She was always active in her church, teaching sunday school, GA''s, working in WMU, and any other thing she was asked to do. Dessie was a member of Central Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas. She was a wonderful woman who was loved by many and will be missed by all. God is very lucky to have her in his heavenly choir.
