Mrs. Bass was born on September 10, 1944 in Livingston, Texas and passed away on July 18, 2014 in Shenandoah, Texas. She worked as the County Treasurer/Auditor for Polk County for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Livingston. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Dickens; and husband, George Bass.

She is survived by her son, Gary Baker of Livingston, Texas; granddaughters, Sarah Baker of League City, Texas and Brandy Baker of League City, Texas; mother, Edna Dickens of Livingston, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Dudley and Sherry Dickens of Livingston, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Bob Clark of Scottsdale, Arizona; brother, Robert Dickens of Livingston, Texas; brother, John Dickens of Livingston, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
