Funeral services for Dolores Martha Opela, 96, of Katy, Texas will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Livingston, Texas. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Opela was born February 10, 1930, in Schulenburg, Texas and passed away June 24, 2026, in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Adolph Blaschke and Anna Stanzel Blaschke; husband, Benedict Opela; daughters, Shirley Creighton and Ann Walker;  grandson, RJ Hochman; and son-in-law, James Hayes.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Hochman; son, Anthony Opela; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Donald O’Neil; daughter, Barbie Hayes; daughter, Theresa Bradford; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
