Mr. Cantrell was born October 31, 1938 in Amarillo, Texas to parents, Wilburn E. Cantrell and Evangeline (Lujan) Cantrell, and passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 6, 2020 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; step-dad, Nick Carter; brother, Ronald Cantrell; and grandson, Little Donald Cantrell.
During his life, Mr. Cantrell grew up in Colorado, Puerto Rico, and Beaumont. He attended high school in Beaumont, Texas. Don moved to Livingston in 1971 where he met Karen in 1983. They were married in 1985. Don was a workaholic. He was happiest when he was working at Best Air, doing yard work, or at the deer lease. He loved hunting, fishing, and organizing everything. He really enjoyed living on the lake where he taught a lot of kids and grandkids to water ski. All Karen had to do was ask for something to be made and he did it. He could do anything. He was also a great master of the grill. His ribs were delicious! He was always thinking of ways to fix anything for his son, Wade - anything to make it more convenient for him. He would even custom make a special deer stand for him. Even though he was semi-retired, Don was busier at home, the deer lease and on the farm. He was always available for any work to be done at Best Air.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Cantrell; sons, Donald Cantrell and wife, Candice, Marty Cantrell and friend, Leah, Shane Moffett and wife, Jennifer, and Wade Moffett; daughters, Tracey Worthy and husband, Ray, and Viki Stifflemire and husband, Keith; grandchildren, Britni Pettit and husband, Andy, Bronson Worthy and wife, Emily, Dusty Stifflemire and wife, Nikki, Shian Cantrell and husband, Jeremy, Madison Moffett, and Kyndall Moffett; 3 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; three sisters, Evangeline Ott and husband, Martin, Jeanne Byerly and husband, Neal, and Sandi Laliberte and husband, Dennis; sister-in-law, Faith Cantrell; sister-in-law, Linda Miller and husband, Fred; and brother-in-law, Wilton Cassels and wife, Mary; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
