Donna Kay Bamber 72, born April 17, 1950, in Los Angeles, California was taken peacefully from this earthly world on August 11, 2022, at her home in Point Blank, Texas. She leaves behind a much-loved family and friends.

Donna is survived by her daughters Sonjia Kay Trawick and husband Trey, Mary Elizabeth Ludwig and significant Christopher; her brother Danny Phariss Bamber and wife Jackie and brother Gary Scott Bamber; her grandchildren Edward Tyler Sherrard, Kyle Douglas Ludwig and Natalie Marguerite Ludwig; her partner in life Dave Wright. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donna was proceeded in death by her mother Peggy Jo Bamber, father Archie Edward Bamber and biological father Carl Edwin Phariss.

Donna was proud to serve her country in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller stationed at Williams Air Force Base, Arizona during the 1970's. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching from Sam Houston University in Huntsville, Texas in 1990. Donna's love for children led her to teach 4 ^th grade for many years at Coldspring Intermediate School, Coldspring, Texas where she was recognized as teacher of the year 1994-1995. She had a passion for teaching writing and literature to her students of all ages. Donna later went on to teach adult education at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Polunsky Unit in Livingston, Texas until retirement.

Donna will be remembered as a fun loving and carefree spirit.  Her contagious smile and larger than life sense of humor drew many people close to her. Friends and family often gathered on her back porch to enjoy her gift of gab and a cocktail. She also enjoyed getting lost in a good book, crafting, camping, traveling, history and had a passion for gardening. Donna was a spiritual being who was considered by many as a dear friend and will be missed by all those she touched and loved in life.

Donna was cremated and her remains will be laid to rest at Addington Cemetery in Addington, Oklahoma alongside her mother and maternal grandparents.
