Doris Jean Thomas age 73 of Shepherd passed away Monday July 26, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held in her honor on Saturday July 31, 22010 in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Shepherd with Pastor Joseph Williams officiating, assisted by Pastor Ell Lee. Burial will follow in the Lake Pool Cemetery in Shepherd.
Doris was born April 28, 1937 in Rosebud, Texas to parents Bubba Bogus and Rosetta (Sug) Beal Bogus. She worked for many years as the head Chef at Holiday Inn for over 30 years in Houston.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Melba Green, brother Billy Lee Green, husband and father of her children Frank Collins, and husband Isaiah Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter Murenda Joyce Harden of Shepherd, son Frank James Collins of Shepherd, sisters Melva Marie Green of Milwaukee Wisconsin, and Leatha Ann Scott if Lamias, brothers Quad?ÇÖir (Baby Lee) El?ÇÖ Amin of Milwaukee Wisconsin, and Noble Douglas Green of Milwaukee Wisconsin. She is also survived by her grandchildren Marcus Dwayne Collins, Pastor Clyde Edward Harden Jr. and wife Tonya, Frank James Collins IV, Rebecca Nicole Collins and Bobby Ray Collins, and her 6 great grandchildren, God daughter Chillie Howard, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Ray Collins, Clarence Marsh, Henry Howard, Reginald Ryan, and Charles Harden. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Collins IV, Billy Ray Cochran, and Ernest Hoskin.
