Memorial services for Dorothy Odell Dement Smith, 91, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Forest Branch Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Rod Averitt officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 fron 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Ms. Smith was born May 25, 1925 in Bellville, Texas to parents, Floyd Dement and Sadie (Lane) Dement, and passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on January 17, 2017 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda Williams; son, Emmett Smith; sisters, Jan Smith and Wanda Brengle.

She is survived by her son, Larry C. Smith of Cypress, Texas; daughter, Kay Waldrep and Bubba of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Kayla Smith, Larry Smith Jr. and Merideth, Melissa Walding and Buck, Dusty Buller, Charles Naumann Jr., and Chelsea Smith; great grandchildren, Bailey Dodd, Shelbi Ladner, Kenzee Ladner, Kylee Walding, Cole Walding, Brady Smith, Laney Buller, and Peyton Smith; numerous other relatives and friends, along with special friends and caregivers at Timberwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, who have cared for her with compassion and loved her like family.
