Obituary
Douglas Lynn McArthur born June 18th, 1943 to David and Lorraine McArthur in San Bernardino, CA.
First born son… preceded in death by his parents, brother Barry and sister Roxanne.
He is survived by his brothers Loren, Daryl and David, Jr
Douglas was named after the General Douglas MacArthur - as his father David was a tail-gunner in WWII and had the opportunity to meet the General. Douglas married Marsha Carlson on Nov 1, 1969 in Minneapolis, MN. They enjoyed many years of motorcycle riding and snowmobiling before they had their first daughter- Heather Elizabeth in 1973. They adopted their second daughter, Holly Elena from Bogota, Columbia in 1981.
Douglas enjoyed many years as a Butcher/ Meat cutter in Minnesota while also raising quarter horses with his wife and daughters. The family moved to the Dallas area in 1987 where they owned a restaurant and then moved to the Houston area in 1996.
Doug and Marsha found their retirement community in Onalaska, TX on Lake Livingston in 2002 and made many memories with their daughters, family, grandchildren (and many friends). Grandchildren include Tyler and Jake Edgar, Samantha, Savannah and Travis Matheus.
At his request, no service will be performed. Condolences may be sent to the family at 190 Creekside Dr. Onalaska, TX 77360.
