Funeral services for Douglas Lavon Murphy, 64, will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas at 12:00 p.m. and will be officiated Curt Green. Interment will follow at Jones Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel Sunday, December 18, 2022,  from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Douglas was born January 3, 1958, in Livingston, Texas to his parents, Clarence Edward Murphy and Bernice Murphy, and passed away December 12, 2022 in Conroe, Texas. He is preceded by his parents; sister, Frances McCarver; and 3 brothers, Edward Murphy, Arnold Murphy and Billy Murphy.

He is survived by his son, Michael Murphy and wife Sadie of Conroe, Texas; daughter, Gretchen Gober and husband Jason of Fayetteville, Arkansas; sons, James Abbott and wife Erika of Alvin, Texas and Jeremy Croxton and wife Heather of Longview, Texas; sister Stella Murphy; granddaughter, Tess Murphy; grandsons, Carson Edward Murphy, Benjamin Gober, Easton Abbott, Hudson Abbott, Kyle Morehead, Caleb Croxton, Clay Croxton, and Symora Croxton; and granddaughter, Kaylee Croxton; along with numerous other loved ones and friends.

Pallbearers: Jared Green, Jason Green, Daniel Murphy, Rodney Turner, Weston McCarver, Jesse Weirich, Miguel Duron, Curtis Moore, and Mark Armstrong.
