Duane Carl Schall, age 91, a devoted husband, father and enthusiastic golfer passed on Saturday December 28, 2024.

Born on April 25, 1933, Duane grew up as the youngest of four children on the family farm in Waco Nebraska. This is where Duane met the love of his life, Elaine Nadelle Stahr.  Against their parents' wishes they moved to southern California, eloped in Las Vegas, began their life's adventure and raised a family.

Duane's career with Douglas Aircraft encompassed several decades with a short 7-year sabbatical to Mammoth Lakes in the early 70's to enjoy the outdoors, build a small apartment complex and start a business.  After retiring from Douglas Aircraft in 1989 Duane relocated to Silver Lakes California where he & Elaine enjoyed years of great golf on limitless warm sunny days with family and friends.  Duane had a bit of wanderlust in him, he delighted in traveling coast to coast visiting all 50 states via a fifth wheel.  It was during his travels that Duane ventured into Livingston Texas and discovered he liked the landscape.  Once again, he relocated in 2013 and soon settled comfortably into his new Texan life and as always Elaine was by his side.

Duane is survived by his steadfast partner & wife of 73 years, Elaine Nadelle Schall, sons Michael Schall and Russell Schall, grandchildren they adore, Amy Frijling (Richard Frijling), Amanda Baker (Cody Baker), Kate Coleman (Michael Coleman) and Rebecca Schall and great grandchildren Brandon Frijling, Rylee Baker, Desmond Coleman and Sadie Coleman.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents Carl Joseph and Olga Johanna Schall, his sisters Geraldine Leonard, Margret Jones, and Ardith Thompson.

A service to celebrate Duane's life will be held Sunday, January 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Livingston TX.  All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
