Obituary

Funeral services for Rev. Ray Evans, 92, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Robert Smith and Rev. Don Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Midway Cemetery in the Midway Community in Polk County, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Rev. Evans was born on December 30, 1921 in Eldorado, Arkansas to parents, Thomas Richard Evans and Sudie L. (Mitchell) Evans, and passed away on March 11, 2014 in Livingston, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was the owner of Evans Welding and an Assembly of God minister. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Richard Evans; sisters, Ruth Wisenbaker, Mabel Evans and Sudie Speer; grandchildren, Keven Evans, Richard Evans, David Evans, and Sarah Evans.

He is survived by his wife, Posey Wathine Evans of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Loye and Les Krogedal of Tempe, Arizona; son and daughter-in-law, Benny and Patsy Evans of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Belvia and Robert Smith of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Gail Evans of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Elton and Ava Evans of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Darwon and Brenda Evans of Livingston, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Wesley Smith, Jared Smith, Nathan Smith, Steven Evans, Waylon Evans, Curtis Evans, Christopher Krogedal, Andy Evans, Rusty Evans.
