Edgar Jefferson Phillips Jr. age 81 of Livingston passed away May 19, 2010 at his home with his family at his side. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 22, 2010 at 10:00AM in the Cochran Funeral Home Livingston Chapel with Rev. Frank Hood and Rev. Harold Isaccs officiating. Burial will follow in the Peebles Cemetery.

Edgar was born March 14, 1928 in Livingston to parents Edgar Jefferson Phillips Sr. and Madie Morris Phillips. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Johnnie Murphy Phillips, son Trey Phillips, brother Bud Phillips, brother in law Jack Lewis, and sister Lucille Gray.

He is survived by his daughters Lynn Bockhorn and husband Robert of Brenham, Joyce Knierim and husband James of Livingston, grandchildren Jennifer Bockhorn of Livingston, Jill Coble and husband Cody of Tyler, Landon Wright and wife Allison or Port Neches, Jacob Phillips, Jordan Phillips of Stephenville, Kim Munson and husband Jason of Livingston, Jim Knierim and wife Shaunna of Brookesville, Fl., great grandchildren Brandon Munson, Jaxson Wright, Austin Knierim,and Aubrey Knierim. He is also survived by is brother R. B. Phillips and wife Florence of Nacogdoches, sisters Jean Ross and husband Norman of Livingston, Sue Hutchins and husband David of Livingston, sister in law Mae Dell Phillis of Livingston, brother in law Tames T. Murphy and wife Nancy of Santa Maria, Ca., sister in law Helen Roberts of Honolulu, Hawaii. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive him.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Wade, Ricky Wade, Ross Lewis, Nub Lewis, Greg Hutchins, Booger McLaurin, Greg Pearson, Jeff Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Wade, Jimmy Cassity, Emory Lowe, Marlon Clamons, and W.A. Cook.
