Graveside services for Edith Mae David, 96, of Livingston, Texas will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Olanta, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. David was born January 20, 1924 in Faunce, Pennsylvania to parents, Ai and Ethel Barrett, and passed away December 27, 2020 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy David; parents; brothers, Maurice Barrett, Jack Barrett, Merrell Barrett, Harry Barrett, Russell Barrett, and Duane Barrett; and sister, Clara Wise.
She graduated from Missionary Training Institute in Nyack, New York in 1948, after 4 years of home service at a camp for Inner City Kids of Patterson, New Jersey. She served as a missionary with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Thailand for 36 years where most of her ministry was in youth work, camps, youth centers and as a part-time teacher at the Bangkok Bible College. She retired and returned to the United States. Then in 1995 she married Reverend Roy David, and served with him for 3 years in the Lake Havasu Arizona Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where he was the Pastor. Her husband passed away in 1998. She then moved to Florida and while there she volunteered one day a week at Holmes Regional Hospital as a patient care representative.
She is survived by her stepdaughters, Doreen Blickenstaff and Darla Sitton; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
