Effie Laverne Ellis, age 85 of Highlands, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at her home. She was born on August 25, 1927, in Goodrich, Texas, to parents, Jessie E. and Emmie Cox Emanuel.

Effie is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jessie Herman Emanuel; and nephew, Bobby Pixley. She is survived by her husband, Billy J. Ellis of Highlands, Texas; step-daughter and husband, Cyndi and Richard Williams of Crosby, Texas; step-son, Rick Ellis of Humble, Texas; grandchildren, Shane Williams and wife, Lynne, Dustin Elliott, Kacy Williams, Chelsea Nelson and husband, Chris, Callie Ellis; two great grandsons, Cayden Nelson and Bryton Williamson; sister and her family, Frances Pixley, James and Yvonne Pixley and Carol Ann Pixley of Goodrich, Texas; nephews and nieces, James Edwin and Kathryn Pixley, Malinda Pixley, Robert and Leta Pixley, Rex and Judy Pixley; great nephews and nieces, Lauren, Michael and Matthew Pixley, Chase White, Kory Gardner, and Jordan, Ashley and Carson Seago, and Zane and Colter Pixley, Kimball and Carter Pixley; other great nephews and nieces, Cheslynn Seago, Halle Galloway, and Kash Gardner; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Pat Hitt will conduct the services. Interment will be at Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas, following the chapel service.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday, March 1, 2013, also at Cochran Funeral Home
