Obituary
Funeral services for Elfriede S. Parrish, 88, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Interment will follow in the Parrish Cemetery in the Hortense Community, Texas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mrs. Parris was born December 3, 1928 in Bavaria, Germany to parents, Max Joseph Spitznagel and Bernardine C. (Olmert) Spitznagel, and passed away January 7, 2017 in Livingston, Texas. Elfriede was born in Germany and moved to New York when she was just 6 months old. She was raised in Brooklyn until 1948 when she moved to Texas. There she met her husband, Carlton Parrish and they raised a family in Pasadena, Texas. In 1984, they retired and moved to Lake Livingston. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carlton Lamar Parrish; son, Michael Parrish; daughter, Theresa Parrish; and sisters, Joanne Sturm and Eleanor Stewart.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Jean Parrish of Pasadena, Texas; son, Randall Parrish of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Kathi Riley of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Robert Parrish, Shawn Welch, Jennifer Welch, Jami Evans, and Katie Wallen; and 5 great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
