Clark Springs, Texas, Mary Elizabeth Stephenson Box and husband, Kip of Spring Branch, Texas, George Edward "Ted" Stephenson and wife, Bernice of Port Aransas, Texas, Mary Melissa Stephenson Jernigan and husband, Tony of Livingston, Texas, Todd Anthony Stephenson and wife, Malissa of Carrizo Springs, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews who are scattered from Texas to Louisiana to Florida to Georgia.
Elizabeth and Don were both dedicated members of the community of Carrizo Springs as well as members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for well over 50 years. 30 of those years Liz taught school. Starting in elementary school and rising to the high school level at the time of her retirement. She was devoted to each and every student she taught through those many years. Liz graduated from Scared Heart High School in Ville Platte, Louisiana in 1950. She graduated from Grand Coteau College in 1954. She was named a "Beauty" one of the years she attended Grand Coteau. In 1980, she was named Carrizo Springs Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma where she served as secretary. She taught Business Law, typing, and was among the first teachers to teach a computer class when those began entering schools in the early 80's. Liz served in the Ladies Altar Society, the Funeral Ministry and taught CCD classes at Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church in Carrizo Springs, Texas. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
The Stephenson family would like to take this opportunity to thank two very special angels on earth to our mother - Kathy Dougherty of Big Sandy, Texas and Lakin Neal of Livingston, Texas. Kathy was our mother's special friend and caregiver extraordinaire. Lakin came to her home and made her feel beautiful every week by giving her her own special "day at the spa." Without these two ladies, we would have been lost and they will always hold a special place in our hearts.
