Ellic Flores, Sr. was born December 17, 1935 in Shiro, Texas to parents Antonio (Tony) Flores and Tomasa (Ortega) Flores and passed away on March 4, 2022 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Ellic Flores, Sr. was a man if many hats, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii from 58'-61', in which he proudly served and had stories and fond memories of his service that if anyone gave him an ear and time, he'd gladly share.
He was one of the business men of Livingston that poured concrete for so many. He worked many days digging ditches, setting forms and pouring concrete throughout his life and having his own successful concrete business for nearly 35 years that would service many in Livingston and surrounding areas. He would often be asked by his peers, "Ellic, are you still trying to cover the globe in concrete?" His response would be "no, just my small corner of it". He was also a 32nd degree Master Mason of Lodge 14 in 1984, a man of God that knew the word and was always open to serve the Lord in the small ways that he could. Either from helping remodel a church or cutting a neighbor's yard. He forgave many, and gave opportunities to those that others would have cast aside. He would share the word and help many others to know God.
He was also a man known to frequent the bar, whether it was Sunset Cove on the dance floor, Whirlwind sitting at the bar, he has said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" one of his more favorite verses he would often quote.
He provided for his family and set an example of what hard work and determination can get you. All the accomplishments, accolades, and achievements he set out on, he surely completed them.
Ellic is survived by his former wife, Lucille Flores; son, Ellic Flores, Jr.; daughter, Yvonne Flores; son. Thomas Flores, Sr.; grandchildren, Roman Olvera, Thomas, "T.J." Flores, Jr., Christopher Flores, Bridgett Myers, Daniel Flores, and David Flores; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Kosina; brother, Joe Flores; sister, Cruz Ann Tanner; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Roman Olvera, Tyler Napier, Brandon Bienek, David Flores, Charles Risden and Wayne Stollings.
