Elsie L. Gilnack

Elsie L. (Doberrentz) Gilnack passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, in Livingston, Texas. She was born in Marlborough, CT, on February 22, 1930, to Theodore Doberrentz and Grace (Finley) Doberrentz.

Elsie married Stanley Gilnack in 1950 and together they raised their family in Glastonbury CT. In 1987, Elsie and Stanley began traveling full-time in their RV, crisscrossing the country and enjoying sightseeing, music, and every opportunity to dance along the way. In 2007, they settled in Livingston, Texas, where they made their home.

Elsie loved spending time with friends, including many afternoons playing Spinner, and she especially enjoyed watching the birds and deer that visited her yard. She was a hard worker and a determined woman who approached life with energy and perseverance. She was known for her laughter and her ability to find joy in the people, places, and experiences around her.

Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Stanley, and her sister, Bertha Spinney. She leaves behind her son, Bruce Gilnack and his wife, Lenore, of Glastonbury, CT; daughter, Marcia Taylor and her husband, William, of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands; daughter, Donna Mulcahy, of South Windsor, CT; six grandchildren, Kevin Gilnack and his partner, Corinne Tobias; Laura Robidoux and her husband, Scott; Lily Taylor and her husband, Caleb Halvorson-Fried; Eva Taylor and her husband, Christopher Ashley; Hannah Mulcahy; and Sarah Mulcahy; four great-grandchildren, Sarah, Ashley, Tobias, and Eleanor; and her niece, Judy Spinney Blake.

A private graveside service for family will be held at Buckingham Church at a future date.
