Funeral services for Elvin Reo Alston, 82, of Coldspring, Texas will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Assembly of God Church in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Raymond Alston and Bro. Robert Alston officiating. Military honors will be provided by the VFW Post #8568. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the McCarter Cemetery in Crockett, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, April 6, 2018, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.


Mr. Alston was born April 21, 1935 in DeRidder, Louisiana, to parents, Rufus Alston and Nettie Jewel (Mitchell) Alston. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Ricky Lee Alston; and brother-in-law, Robert W. Brown.


He is survived by his wife, Edna Alston currently of Coldspring, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Ruth Ann Alston of Anacoco, Louisiana; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Patsy Alston of Coldspring, Texas; grandchildren, Karis Alston, Robert "Bo" Alston Jr., Trent Reo Alston, and Kaitlyn Alston; brother and sister-in-law, Buford Wayne and Barbara Alston of Lake Charles, Louisiana; sister, Patsy Ruth Brown of Lake Charles, Louisiana; multiple spiritual sons and daughters; and numerous other relatives, friends, and church families.
