Funeral services for Erika Forstner Laid, 82, of Victoria, Texas, will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Interment will follow in the Center Grove Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Monday, September 20, 2021, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Erika Forstner Laird, 82, went to be with our Lord on September 13, 2021. Erika was born October 14, 1938 in Schopfloch, Kries Germany to Leonard Artur and Luise Emma Forstner. Erika married John Archibald "Archie" Laird on September 28, 1957 while he was serving in the U. S. Army in Germany. The newlyweds moved to the U. S. and started a family.

Erika loved her family first and foremost, flowers, she had an amazing green thumb, she was also an amazing cook and of course loved her poodle Mitzi. Erika attended church and was baptized at Graeber Road Church of Christ in Rosenberg, Texas.

Erika is survived by her three sons, Glen Alan (Donna)Victoria, Don Archie (Megie), and Danny Wayne (Christina); 2-daughters, Erika Arlene Young (Larry) all of Corpus Christi, and Bridget Darlene Dreyer (Mark) San Antonio; 18-grandchildren; 17-great grandchildren; one brother, Kurk Forstner (Germany); three sisters, Elfreda Loibl (New York), Helena Wheatley (Rosenburg), and Edith Schinko,(Germany); along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Erika is proceeded in death by her husband, Archie; parents, Artur and Emma; two of her children, Vernon Weldon and Edith Elaine; son-in-law; Robert Merrifield; and her great grandson, Gauge Mikel Calahan.
