Obituary

Ernie Glenn Rush, 70, of Kingwood, Texas died February 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cleveland, Texas on January 2, 1952, to Floyd Ellis and Emma Lillian Barron Rush who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Floyd Dee Rush, James "Sonny Boy" Roberson Rush, and Robert Lee Rush; and sisters, Peggy Sue Rush, Virginia Ann Rush, and Dorothy Jean Simmons.

Ernie married his beloved Nettie Sue Wilkinson on July 17, 1971 after they dated throughout his high school years. Their 56-year love story is a beautiful example of God's love for us all. Ernie and Sue's greatest joy in life, daughter Jennifer Elizabeth, was born in 1981.

He attended Texas State Technical College, worked 44 years as an air conditioner and appliance repairman, and retired in 2017. Ernie most enjoyed spending time with his family and extended family, and attending Kingwood First Baptist Church where he was a member of The Word Life Group and spent several years teaching 6th grade Sunday School. Ernie loved building things and tinkering in his workshop and garage filled with tools and other treasures. Also, he enjoyed writing Christian stories to share sermons with family and friends.

Ernie is survived by his wife Sue Rush, daughter Jennifer Rush Alexander and husband Quinn Alexander, granddaughter Emily Alexander (all of Kingwood); sisters-in-law Wanda Williams (of Marble Falls) and Shirley Wilkinson (of Corrigan), and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
