With great sadness we announce the passing of Ethel May Ener at the age of 69, on November 27th, 2025, in Kingwood, Texas. Ethel was born on January 9th,1956 in Dallas Texas, to her mother, Ruby May McClain. She graduated from Shepherd High school and completed her education at cosmetology school where she became a beautician. In 1980, Ethel married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Ener. They had two beautiful daughters, Nerissa and Kenzie, who gave them three handsome grandsons, Layne, Trent, and Rhett, which kept her busy. Ethel enjoyed spending time with family, crafting, going on family trips, being by the water, fishing, laughing with friends and family, and BINGO night! Let's not leave out eating at Catfish King. Ethel was a loving sister, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, grandmother, and friend, as well as many other roles. All of our lives are much richer because of her influence.
We would like to thank everyone for being here to celebrate her life and supporting her family members.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Ener; daughter, Nerissa Whitmire and husband Doug, grandsons Layne and Trent Whitmire; daughter Kenzie Ener, grandson, Rhett O'Quinn; brother, George Lee McClain and wife Mary Beth; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Troy Ener Jr., Ernest Ener, Roy Ener, John Enloe, Jimmy Enloe, and Lewis Johnson.
Honorary Bearers: Doug Whitmire and Steve Bratcher.
