Ethel Mae Shoemaker, age 94, died peacefully on February 22, 2013. Ethel was born May 23, 1918 in Port Lavaca, Texas, the daughter of James Lafayette and Cartie Ethel Miller.
She is survived by her two sons, Garry Shoemaker and Michael Shoemaker; four grandchildren, Susan Klawinski and her husband, Raymond, Nora Lynn Snow, Robert Michael Shoemaker, and Joshua Shoemaker; six great grandchildren, Amber Kaye, Jason and his wife, Kara, Monica Lynn, Philip and his wife, Tonya, Valerie and Courtney Brianna; thirteen great great grandchildren, Nicholas, Alex, Angel, Theo, Dejalin, Caden, Tavin, Alexandria, Devonte, Gracie, Jermie, Shelby and Alex; brother and sister-in-law, Horace James Miller and Betty Miller; a host of other family and friends also survive. Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Keenon Shoemaker; two brothers, William and Robert Miller; and three sisters, Nora Golden, Vera Neil and Nettie Rice.
Visitation for Ethel Shoemaker will begin at 5:00 PM, Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska with Rev. Don Wilkey conducting the services.
