IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn Frances
Mauck
March 7, 1944 – January 2, 2021
Beloved follower of Jesus, Evelyn Frances Mauck, 76, of Onalaska, Texas, passed away January 2, 2021, holding the hand of her granddaughter after a valiant battle with COVID-19.
An adored member of her family, Evelyn or "Mimi" was often the light of any gathering and brought joy to anyone who knew her. She was a fervent believer and a leader at Point Blank Community Church, where she served as Assistant Treasurer and VBS photographer. Evelyn was passionate about helping others. She lifted our spirits when we were down, encouraged us when we lacked inspiration, and celebrated our achievements—no matter how small they seemed. Pure of heart and full of Jesus, she never failed to deliver the details that matter, whether that be a perfectly-timed kind word, a welcoming hand at church, or a red velvet cake made with love.
Born on March 7, 1944, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Evelyn later moved to Texas and worked at various credit unions as office manager and loan officer. Eventually, she launched her own bookkeeping business, which she ran until she retired in 1987 to live on Lake Livingston. A vibrant member of her community, she shared her accounting talents, serving as officers of various organizations including AARP/DMA, RVOS Insurance, and several property owners associations.
Rarely seen without a camera hanging from her neck or in hand, Evelyn loved photography and scrapbooking. She was also an avid domino and card player, and enjoyed rallying the family around the kitchen table for a game of Chickenfoot or Wizard. She also loved shopping, traveling, the great outdoors, and, most of all, her family. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, William "Bill" Mauck, of Onalaska, TX; daughter, Kathy Boren (David) of Kemah, TX; son, Don Valentine (Araceli) of Pearland, TX; stepdaughters, Renee Yeakey (Kerry) of Ft. Worth, TX and Lori Ford (Brian) of Kingwood, TX; and grandchildren, Jessica, Erin, Kristen, Heather, and Josh; brothers James "Jim" Weston (Arlene) of Livingston, Mike Weston of Houston, TX, Matt Weston (Jana) of Clear Lake, TX and Randy Weston of Bristol, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Olive Gertrude Weston.
In order to support the health of her family and friends during the pandemic, memorial services will be held at a later date.
