Funeral services for Fay Rene Stanford, 90, of Onalaska, Texas, will be held Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Onalaska United Methodist Church in Onalaska, Texas with Bro. Jimmy Calvert officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas.
Mrs. Stanford was born April 14, 1931 in Duncanville, Texas, to her parents, Jesse Owen Robinson and Elsie Johnnie (Lane) Robinson and passed away November 6, 2021 in Livingston, Texas. She was an artist and teacher who loved to travel and was an excellent cook. She was a fun loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Lewis Stanford; sister, Evelyn Gerhardt; and grandson, Charles Allen Droze.
Mrs. Stanford is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Stanford of Crossville, Tennessee; daughter, Linda Els of Wilmington, North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Larry Forsyth of Onalaska, Texas; grandchildren, Leon and Robyn Els, Avril and Adriaan Van Zyl, Keith and Carla Poole, Clarke and Marisa Poole, Craig and Melanie Poole, Brett and Shelley Forsyth, Robert and Jennifer Forsyth; great grandchildren, Paige Els, Lily Els, Kestt Van Zyl, Cadi Van Zyl, Clea Van Zyl, Aidan Poole, C.J. Poole, Caroline Poole, Collin Poole, Klaira Poole, Kaeli Smith, Kenzie Smith, Eric Forsyth, Sarah Forsyth, Caitlin and Zach Payne, Evie Parsons, Ryder Parsons, Jaxson Forsyth, and Kassi Forsyth; niece and husband, Karen Gerhardt-Fort and Tom of Edinburgh, Texas; nephew, Barry "Chip" Gerhardt of Knoxville, Tennessee; nephew, Dana Gerhardt of North Carolina; sister-in-law and husband, Betty and Wayne Gibson of Bryan, Texas; niece, Carolyn Gibson-Baros of El Campo, Texas; niece, Beth Gibson-Coyle of College Station, Texas; nephew and wife, Bill and Kim Gibson of Bryan, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Onalaska United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 700 FM 356, Onalaska, Texas 77360.
