Graveside services for Faye (Lockhart) Nelson, 94, of Corrigan, Texas, will be held Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carmona Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Wednesday, April 14, 2021, Faye (Lockhart) Nelson, loving mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 94 in Corrigan, Texas. Faye was born December 21, 1926 in Colita, Texas. Faye was one of eight children born to John Wright and Lula Irene Lockhart. She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Ben Nelson; and six siblings, Mary Lula Mullican, Marguerite Tidwell, Johnie Riley, Ira Belle Nelson, Lonnie Lockhart, Frances Lowe, and surviving is Opal Lynn Kenner of Livingston, Texas. Faye Lockhart married Ben Nelson on July 13, 1944 in Livingston, Texas. Survived by three sons, Ben Frank married to Jo Ann Nelson of Leggett, Norris Trenton married to Beverly Nelson of Corrigan, and Terrell Keith married to Kay Nelson of Kingwood. Ben and Faye Nelson have eight grandchildren, Ben Frank Nelson Jr., Joseph Paul Nelson, Ryan Nelson, Shalana Danielle Hyde, Trenton Nelson, Timothy Skinner, Keith Harvey, Kayla Hendricks, and great-grandsons, Weston Wayne Hyde and Hayden Tyler Hyde. Faye is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born to sharecroppers on the Townes Ranch in Colita, Texas. Faye spent her early years helping on the farm. After graduating high school in Corrigan, Texas, Faye moved to Livingston, Texas and met Ben Nelson. Ben and Faye raised their children in Livingston, Faye lived in Livingston, Texas for 65 years before moving back to Corrigan, Texas in 2009.

Faye loved raising livestock, gardening, and quilting; she would often take her sons on summer vacations (road trips) traveling to various states. She was always ready for an adventure or road trip.
