Our father, Frank Edwin Flowers, Sr., went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 27, 2012. He was 71 years of age. ""Pops"" was born to Clyde and Maudie Flowers on January 13, 1941 in Hemphill, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Neva Lewis, and sons, Frank, Jr. and Robert Clay. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Flowers; daughter, Margaret Torres and husband, Daniel; sons, Steven DeWayne Flowers and wife, Jennifer, and Joseph Earl Flowers and wife, Kristin; grandsons, Brandon and Austin Lewis, Mario Hernandez, II and Jakeb and Darren Flowers; granddaughters, Ashley and Lindsay Hernandez and Abigail Flowers; great granddaughters, Kyrston and Haven Hernandez and Jayde Lewis; plus many, many more family and friends. Our father was born and raised in East Texas and at the age of 18, he joined the USMC. He was Honorably Discharged after 11 years of service with one year of service in Vietnam. Pops eventually moved his family to Texas City and worked for more than 20 years at Amoco Oil refinery. Our parents started a new life in Livingston, Texas after pops retired from Amoco. They joined Beacon Bay Baptist Church where he became a Deacon and made many new and lasting friendships. In July 2011 our parents moved back to Texas City to be close to family while pops battled stage 4 COPD. He put a Hard and Courageous Fight. Throughout his life our Father was a pillar of strength to his family. He was a Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. Above all else, he was a Friend. He will be missed so much.
We as a family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice and especially Donnika, Angie, and Mike. Thank you so much for everything.
