Gayle Phillips Sheppard, age 67, of Fairfield, Texas, passed away on August 21, 2024, at Baylor Scott and White in Dallas, Texas. Gayle was born on July 15, 1957, in Livingston, Texas, to James Earl Phillips and Nina Faye Warren.

Gayle was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who brought joy and warmth to everyone around her. She was married to her beloved husband, Jerry Sheppard, for 48 wonderful years. Together, they shared a life full of love, adventure, and cherished memories. After her retirement, Gayle found great joy in traveling with Jerry in their fifth wheel, with the mountains being a favorite destination.

Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she took every opportunity to spoil them with love and affection. Gayle also had a green thumb, spending countless hours nurturing her flower beds, which were a reflection of her vibrant spirit. She was a dedicated member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church, where her faith was a guiding force in her life.

Gayle is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Sheppard; her mother, Nina Faye Phillips; her daughters, Kelly Wren and her husband Danny, and Lindsey Lane and her husband Dustin; her brothers, Jimmy Phillips and his wife Karen, Bobby Phillips and his wife Coby; and her brother-n-law, John Hayter. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Ivy Wren, Branton Lane, Tripp Wren, and Blakely Lane. Gayle was preceded in death by her father, James Earl Phillips; her son, Phillip Jess Sheppard; and her sister, Susan Hayter.

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Justin Colquette. Burial will follow at Lake Chapel Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Wren, Michael Wren, Nic King, Billy Patterson, Dustin Lane, and Danny Wren. Honorary pallbearers will be Branton Lane, Tripp Wren, Allen Phillips, Barrett Phillips, Zachary Sheppard, Kyle Oates, Chad Oates, Tye Phillips, Logan Hayter, Bill Minchew, Buddy Mullen, Sean Donaho and Scott Baggerly.
