Funeral services for Gaynell Mitchell, 87, of Livingston, Texas will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 11:00 am. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Mitchell Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the Bluff Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

Ms. Gaynell was born October 7, 1934 in Kountze, Texas to parents, Sill Estol Collins and Ruth Cornelius (Walker) Collins, and passed away April 11, 2022 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, David Henry Collins. During her life, Ms. Gaynell was the pianist at the Sunflower Baptist Church for over 20 years. She was loved and will be missed by all of her family and church friends.

She is survived by her loving husband Billy Mitchell of Livingston; daughters, Cynthia Mitchell of Lumberton, and Rebecca Scully of Livingston; brother, Leland Collins of Baytown; sister, Mary Ethel Polvadore of Houston; grandchildren, Brandon Blount and wife, Amy, Bobby Ledet and wife, Nedra, Blake Ledet, Britney Guidry, Cassie Sanchez  and husband, Eduardo, and Mitchell Scully and wife, Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Mexia Cobb and husband, Ryan, Garrett Blount, Shelbi Ledet, Gage Smith, Olivia Arnold, Lucian Sanchez, Amelia Sanchez, Lily Scully, and Devon Scully; along with numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
