Funeral services for Gennett Bowden Burton, age 66, of Point Blank, Texas were held Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the First Assembly of God Church in Onalaska, Texas. Rev. Don Wilson and Rev. Phillip Halstead will officiate. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Pallbearers were Mike Neal, Darren Lafayette, Ricky Owens, Ronnie Lee, Ronnie Lee, Jr., and Bill Rasberry.

She was born January 18, 1945 in Durant, Oklahoma the daughter of Lester James Bowden and Opal Ann Posey Bowden and passed away on September 2, 2011 in Conroe, Texas. She is preceded in death by parents, Lester James Bowden and Opal Ann Posey Bowden, first husband, Larry Max Pinkerton, and granddaughter, Courtney Ann Lafayette.

Gennett is survived by Joseph R. Burton, husband, of Point Blank, Texas, Carol Ann Nield, daughter, of Texarkana, Texas, Patricia Louise, daughter, of Florida, Larry Jerome Pinkerton, son, of Bangor, Maine, Steven Jeffrey Pinkerton, son, of Henderson, Texas, sister, of Mc Lester, Oklahoma, Sue Balesachi, sister, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, J.W. Bowden, brother, of Morarty, New Mexico, 17 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, step-daughter, April Nichole McKee, of Maultrie, Georgia, step-son, Joseph Robert Burton, Jr., of Kentucky, Melba Amos, and 13 step-grandchildren. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
