GEORGE I. BROOKS

George I. Brooks, age 86 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on February 5, 2013, in Livingston, Texas. George was born on April 15, 1926, in Carmona, Texas, to parents, George R. and Sallie Josephine Bell Brooks.

George is preceded in death by both of his parents; son, Ronald Brooks; brothers, Garner, Dan, Bill, and Mitt Brooks; sisters, Becky Isbell, Pearlie Beauchamp, and Idy Brooks. He is survived by his wife, Iva Bell Brooks, of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Connie Carpenter, of Austin, Texas; son, George Ray Brooks, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Cody Brooks, Blake Brooks, Chase Brooks, Kane Carpenter, Coy Carpenter, Derek Brooks, Darin Brooks, and Dillon Brooks; great-grandchildren, Elyssa Brooks, Cypress Brooks, Phoenix Brooks, Blaine Carpenter, Macie Carpenter, Liam Carpenter, and Madysen Carpenter; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. George will be escorted to his grave by pallbearers, Cody Brooks, Blake Brooks, Chase Brooks, Kane Carpenter, Coy Carpenter, Derek Brooks, and Blaine Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 8, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Livingston. Rev. Kevan Wood and Rev. Brett Lester will conduct the services. Interment will be held at Camp Ruby Cemetery in Livingston, following the church service. Military honors will be provided by VFW Honor Guard Post #8568.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston.
