Funeral services for George Ross Colvin, 85, of Onalaska, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 31, 2017 in the Revival Center Church of God in Onalaska, Texas with Rev. Cannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. in the Revival Center Church of God in Onalaska, Texas.

Mr. Colvin was born on January 13, 1932 in Troup, Texas to parents, John Wesley Colvin and Lila (Gee) Colvin, and passed away on December 27, 2017 in Livingston, Texas. During his life, he loved to play 43 and even won a tournament. George loved sports – especially football. He was a varsity quarterback in Troup, Texas for 4 years and also played baseball and track. He also loved to deer hunt and bass fish. George was a master electrician for the union in Houston. He is preceded in death by his parents; and 7 siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Brewster Colvin of Onalaska, Texas; step-son, Robert Hart of South Carolina; granddaughter, Kayla Hart of South Carolina; sons from a previous marriage, Gary Colvin and wife, Debra of Spring, Texas, Dennis Colvin and wife, Betty of Rockport, Texas, and Doug Colvin and wife, Sue of The Woodlands, Texas; 3 grandsons, 3 granddaughters; and 6 great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
