Funeral services for Gerardo Monjaraz, 14, of Moscow, Texas will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Moscow First Baptist Church in Moscow, Texas with Bro. Robert Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Monjaraz Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the service begins at 11:00 a.m. in the church.

Gerardo was born October 22, 2007 in Houston, Texas to parents, Juan Jose Monjaraz and Rubi (Anrubio) Monjaraz, and passed away January 9, 2022 in Houston, Texas. He is survived by his parents; brother, Juan Monjaraz; and sisters, Clara Monjaraz, Carolina Monjaraz, Jasmine Monjaraz, and Julissa Monjaraz; along with numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

During his life, Gerardo was an active teenager that loved spending time with his family, especially his brother and sisters. He always kept an over protective eye out for his sisters. He loved to have cook-outs with his dad at the hotdog stand and cuddling with his mom. Gerardo was always a "momma's boy" and would always laugh when him and his dad would argue over which one was the most good looking - even though everyone knew Gerardo was the winner. He loved having family and friends over for a good time riding four-wheelers and playing outdoor games like football. His favorite football team was the Texans. In the summertime, his favorite hobby was swimming. He would turn into a "fish" and swim from sun-up to sun-down if he could. Gerardo was very sweet, smart, kind, and strong. He was a fighter until the end. He had a smile was so addicting that you could never be serious around him. He was definitely loved by all who knew him!
