Obituary

Funeral services for Gertrude E. Gilshenan, 95, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Roger Clayton and Dr. Don Willis officiating. Interment will follow in the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Gilshenan was born September 5, 1922 in Houston, Texas to parents, Thomas Milton Tyler and Tennie (Palmer) Tyler. Gertrude married Eugene A. Gilshenan on May 10, 1946. She was a long time resident of Livingston and passed away quietly on October 23, 2017 in The Bradford Nursing Home. She lived a long and wonderful life; always surrounded by loving family and dear friends. She loved her church family at the First United Methodist Church very much. She will always be remembered for her kind, loving heart and her infectious sense of humor. Her husband and children meant everything to her. She filled their world with humor and love. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene A. Gilshenan; eldest son, Thomas Daun and brothers, Orville Tyler and Elmer Tyler.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Webster of Brenham, Texas; son, Michael Gilshenan of Santa Rosa, California; son, Raymond Gilshenan of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Jolene Blakely of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Chris Daun and wife, Julie, Nathan Daun and wife, Sarah, Seamus Gilshenan, Wendy Lawhon and husband, Marcus, Nicole Fry and husband, Mike, Allison Winnie and husband, Jeff, Matthew Gilshenan and wife, Candace, Aimee Brett and husband, Luke, Lindsey Sobel and husband, Jason, Ryan Gilshenan and wife, Octavia, Rick Blakely , and Brittany Blakely; daughter-in-law, Barbara Daun of Dallas, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Martina Brennan of Ireland; along with numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends. The family also wishes to thank the Mayes family for being in her life. She loved you all very much.
