Gordon Ray Marrs age 77 of Shepherd passed away Monday June 14, 2010 in Galveston. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00PM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry L.Wade officiating. Burial will follow in the Farley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday June 17, 2010 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM also in the Cochran Funeral Home.

Gordon was born September 16, 1932 in Houston to parents Fredrick Christopher Marrs and Ethel Virginia Cook Marrs. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one son Roy Allen Marrs.

He is survived by his loving wife Clara Marrs of Shepherd, son Gordon Ray Marrs Jr of Shepherd, daughter Pamila Davis and husband Wade of Attor, Mo., son Donny Marrs and wife Patricia of Shepherd, son Richard Harrell and wife Becky of Shepherd, and one brother Clyde Marrs and wife Kay of Houston. He is also survived by his granddaughters Sharlotte Rae Combs, Leslie Michelle Bettis, Tiffany Renea Brill, Amanda Leigh Marrs, Lindsey Marrs, Taylor Rae Marrs, and Cynthia Lynn Davis, along with is 4 great grandsons. Numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive him.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Bryant, Allen Brock, Tracy Marrs, Gary Powell, George Powell, Pat Preston, Rusty Hargett, Doug Harrell, and Jerry Harrell.
