IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gregory John
Shandera
May 25, 1955 – February 14, 2022
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gregory John Shandera of Livingston, Texas, born in Houston, Texas who passed away on February 14, 2022, at the age of 66.
Greg worked at Gulf Coast Stabilized Material for 28 years where he made many friends. In his spare time, Greg was a true sportsman who loved tennis, hunting, fishing and competing in BBQ cookoffs.
Greg loved spending time with his family and friends and preparing feasts for everyone to enjoy. He invested time with his son by taking him on his hunting excursions, coaching his baseball teams and building jeeps together. He was a proud Poppi who regularly made appearances at their extracurricular activities to cheer them on and wouldn't shy away from finding an opportunity to BBQ for their swim team league.
He was loved by many people including his parents that precede Greg in death, John P. Shandera, Ruval M. Shandera, and his nephew Jason W. Gaskey.
He leaves behind a son, John and Gena Jongebloed and grandchildren, Cole and Aubrey Jongebloed, brother, Dr. Kevin and Kelli Shandera, and sisters, Patrice and Tommy Lemmons, Missy and Coalter Baker, and Connie and Russell Hayes, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and special friends.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (2590 US-I90, Livingston, Texas 77351).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Greg's memory to Livingston SPCA or to the charity of your choice.
