Obituary

Gunda Windham, age 86, born May 29, 1927 in Weiden, Germany, passed away peacefully in Livingston, Texas on October 24, 2013 with her husband of 59 years at her side.

Born and raised in Germany, Gunda met her husband, Odis, a native Texan, at the conclusion of WWII. After numerous transfers as an U.S. Army family, the Windham's settled in the Houston area in 1968. Gunda managed two handbags boutiques, the Cul De Sac and the Pick Pocket in the Galleria for 20 years, before retiring to Lake Livingston in 1991.

Gunda enjoyed her various trips and cruises that took her all over the world. She was an avid gardener and won several local awards for her beautiful garden. Spending time in California with her family brought her great joy. She was no stranger to hard work. She had a strong work ethic but knew how to enjoy life to its fullest. We will all miss her dearly.

Gunda is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Odis; her daughter, Cindy and husband John; sister, Emilie; and two grandsons, Jeff and Scott.

Services for Gunda will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 1, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Interment will be held at 2:15 PM that afternoon, at Houston National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 PM, Thursday, October 31, 2013 also at Cochran Funeral Home.
