Obituary

Harold Ray Williams of Onalaska, TX passed away on July 5th at age 73. He loved July 4th celebrations and had a great view of local fireworks on his final night.

Harold was born in Montague County to Harold Muriel and Lucille. He had many siblings who looked up to him and whom he cared deeply for. He also had an adventurous spirit, always trying out new things and gaining new experiences, and this stayed with him throughout his life.

In his youth, Harold played football and enjoyed tinkering on personal projects around his home (something he never stopped doing). After serving in the military as a pilot, he took up various adrenaline-fueled hobbies including riding bulls in rodeos, scuba diving, and hunting wild game with his compound bow. He also bowled and became an accomplished golfer, winning several tournaments and even scored a hole-in-one on at least one occasion.

Later in life, Harold bought a motorcycle and began riding all over the US, visiting most of the continental states along the way. He met many new people during this time and made a lot of friends that were with him for the rest of his life. When not travelling, he enjoyed being around nature, in particular fishing on the lake and hunting in the woods of East Texas.

Throughout all this time, Harold was a dedicated and loving father for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He liked taking them out on the lake, making them BBQ, and sometimes even letting them ride with him on his motorcycle. He also enjoyed telling them stories of all his adventures from his legendary life.

Harold is survived by his large family which includes his siblings (Shelia, Christene, Kathy, Jesse, Johnny, and Eddie), his children (Rebecca, Lisa, Harold Jr, and Caitlin), his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his nieces/nephews and grand-nieces/nephews, and his many dear friends.

There will be a private Celebration of Life among his close friends and family in the summer to reminisce on his numerous adventures, dine on his favorite food (Texas BBQ), and spend time on the lake in honor of the legendary Harold Ray Williams.
