Harrol Dene Sims 79 of Shepherd passed away Sunday May 4, 2008 at the V.A. Hospital in Houston. Funeral services were held Wednesday May 7, 2008 at 10:00AM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel-Livingston with Rev. Gregory Gerald officiating. Burial will follow in the Latexo Cemetery in Latexo. He was born August 30, 1928 in Grapeland, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father Robert Sims, and his mother Lola Brown Sims.

Harrol is survived by his wife Joyce Ann Sims of Shepherd, daugther Peggy Coskey-Nelms of Lubbock, daughter & son in law, Debra Nelms & husband Donald of Spring,sons Robert Sims of Bryan, Hillie Sims of Bryan, Martin Sims of Bryan, daughter Cynthia Sims of Bryan, and son and daughter in law Stephen and Beth Sims of Spring, son and daughter in law Jim and Karie Sims of Biloxi, son Scott Sims of Shepherd, and daughter and son in law Dena and Jeff Holtzclaw of Big Sandy. He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbears will be Joshua Graves, Dustin Sims, Robert Hammond, Matthew Hammond, Mark Hammond, and Michael Nelms.
