Obituary

Memorial services for Helen Lucille Smith age 94 of Livingston, will be held Friday July 30, 2010 at 10:30am in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston with Bro. Paul Woodword officiating and interment to follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston.

She was born January 10, 1916 in Doddridge County, West Virginia the daughter of Creed and Jessie Meek Sherwood and passed away July 26, 2010 in Livingston.

Mrs. Smith worked at the U.S. Census Bureau in Washington, D.C. during the 1930?Çÿs, she was a bookkeeper for the City Of Liberty for more than twenty years, she was a former President of Dayton Garden Club and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Livingston. She moved to Livingston in December of 2000 and resided at The Gardens until recently when she moved to Tall Pines Assisted Living. Thoughout her life she enjoyed painting, fishing, gardening and especially dancing. One of the highlights of her life was a trip around the world with daughter Sandy. Characteristic of her adventurous spirit, Mrs. Smith was also making plans to attend the new college here in Livingston.

She is survived by Pat & Dr. Bob Cook, daughter & son in law of Livingston, Sandy & Steve Geery, daughter & son in law of Lake Dallas, Texas, Jean Levins, sister of Mansfield, Texas, Charles Sherwood, brother of Port Charlotte, Florida, David Cook & Sarah Cook, grandchildren of Hickory Creek, Texas, Sandra Cook Burnett & Michael Burnett, grandchildren of Houston,

Kyle Cook, great grandchild, Jared Cook, great grandchild, Dr. John Levins, nephew, of Houston, and Mike Cole, nephew of Rusten, Virginia.
