Helen Maxine Mitchell, age 83 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on January 18, 2013, in Livingston. Helen was born on July 22, 1929, in Colfax, Louisiana, to parents Newton and Leola Bryant Johnson.

Helen is preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Charles Clifford Mitchell; and five sisters, Lucille Bembow, Syble McDonald, Dorothy Lyles, Velma Futrell, and Geneva Hyde. She is survived by daughter, Delores Chelette, of Dry Prong, Louisiana; daughter, Berneta Mulhall, of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Saundra Payton, of Stephenville, Texas; son, Loyd Clyde Williams, of Colfax, Louisiana; son, Robert Davis, Sr., of Onalaska, Texas; grandchildren, Dana Linzay, Deanna Chelette, Nathan Chelette, Maklisha Smith, Robert Davis, Jr., Martin L. Davis, Terry J. Davis, Morgan Mitchell, and Miranda Payton; fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers, J.H. Johnson, Mendon C. Johnson, Huey Johnson, Hershel Johnson, and Norman Johnson; sisters, Almarie Whitstine and Sherry Vercher; along with numerous other relatives and friends. Helen will be escorted to her grave by pallbearers, Michael Smith, Ronnie Johnson, Danny McDonald, Randy Payton, Preston Lyles, Jon Lyles, Glynn Johnson, and John Mulhall. Honorary pallbearers include, Nathan Chelette, Robert Davis, Jr., Martin L. Davis, and Terry J. Davis.

Funeral services for Helen Maxine Mitchell will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at 12:00 PM, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Interment will follow the service at Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Bro. Dicky Boddie will be officiating and David Johnson will be assisting the service.

A visitation will be held Monday, January 21, 2013, at 5:00 PM, also at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston.
