Funeral services for Henry Birdell Ogden, 84, of Colmesneil, Texas, will be held Sunday, December 29, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Military honors will be provided by the VFW Honor Guard Post #8568. Interment will follow in the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Ogden was born on March 19, 1929 in Gravelly, Arkansas to parents, John Henry Ogden and Maggie Jewel (Johnson) Ogden, and passed away on December 24, 2013 in Colmesneil, Texas. He was self-employed in the taxidermy business for 40 years. He served on the Colmesneil City Council and the Volunteer Fire Department. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and 5 sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Barbara Jean Ogden of Colmesneil, Texas; daughters: Terri Hill and husband Herman of Crosby, Texas, Tammi Johnson and husband Cecil of Vidor, Texas; son: Henry B. Ogden Jr. and wife Sarah of Buna, Texas; grandchildren: Jesse, Henry III, Mandi, Josey, Heather, Kylee, and Elizabeth; great grandchildren: Emily, Levi, Matilda, Raylee, Ramzey, Anleigh; sisters: Fan Holden of San Antonio, Texas, Ruby Loftin and husband Vernon of Onalaska, Texas, Brenda Kelso and husband Ken of Livingston, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Jesse Ellington, Josey Ellington, Ricky Black, Dusty Ogden, Stacey Smelley, Casey Smelley.
