Obituary
Funeral services for Henry Thomas Petty, 88, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Minister Lindell Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 12, 2014 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until service begins in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Petty was born July 25, 1926 in Dorchester, Texas to parents, Birdie Leslie and Willie Mae (Smith) Petty, and passed away October 7, 2014 in Livingston, Texas. He proudly served his country and retired from the United States Marine Corp. After retiring, he went to Okinawa, Japan as a minister of Ojana Church of Christ for a short period of time. Mr. Petty also loved to travel and fish. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maurine (Wigley) Petty; and brother, Roy Petty.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Henry Larry and Gail Petty of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, John Leslie and Becky Petty of Pahoa, Hawaii; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.
