Herbert "Herbie" Luther Middleton of Livingston, Texas, left this earth to go home to the Lord on October 13, 2024, at 80 years of age. Herbie was born in Vidor, Texas, on November 8, 1943, to Elmer Leon Middleton and Bernice Middleton Small.

Herbie is survived by his three adult children: Leon Middleton and wife, Sherry, Susan Sanders and husband Otis, and David Middleton. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Krislyn Placker and husband Ethan, Kaitlyn Sanders, Emily Sanders, Karlie Middleton, and Shawn Middleton. Herbie is survived by brothers Preston Middleton, Kenny Middleton, and Clarence Small, and sisters Rhonda Courmier, Darlene Banuet, and Ruby Owens; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Preceding him in death are his beloved wife of 57 years, Barbara Middleton, his parents, Elmer Leon Middleton and Bernice Middleton Small, stepfather Morris Small, brothers Edward Middleton, Randy Middleton, and Morris "Moose" Small, and sister, Barbara Courmier.

Herbie's family meant the world to him, and he dearly loved them and his countless friends. He will be deeply missed by the many who knew and loved him – until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, October 18, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Leon Middleton, Glen Middleton, Jeff Middleton, James Middleton, Kent Middleton, Otis Sanders, and Ethan Placker.
